Judaism p 101- One of the worlds major religions founded by the Hebrews Torah includes the Torah p 101- Torah means Gods Teaching and it consists of the first five books of the Hebrew bible. Old Testament p 101- Jewish people refer to the bible as the Old Testament Descendant p 104- A daughter or son, and granddaughter or grandson Covenant p 104- A sacred argument or promise Exodus p 106- The escape of the Hebrews from Egyptian Slavery Prophet p 106- A person who speaks or interprets for god to other people Plague p 106- A terrible disaster affecting many people and thought to be sent by god as a punishment Ten Commandments p 107- The ten laws said to be given to Moses by god Sabbath p 107- The seventh day of the week used for rest and worship, according to one of the Ten Commandments Ark of the Covenant p 108- The chest containing the Ten Commandment, written on stone tablets, that the Hebrews carried with them during their wanderings after their flight from Egypt Jerusalem p 108- The capital of Israel, a city in Canaan

Abraham was the first Jew, and the first of the three Patriarchs. He discovered god and was later commanded by god to go to Canaan, his

homeland, where he withstood several tests. A well-known test he withstood was the Binding of Isaac

Two contributions that Abraham made to the beginning of Judaism were: He withstood several tests, including The Binding of Isaac, and he was the first of the three patriarchs.
