Roch Pastoral Council Meeting


Minutes November 8, 2012 (Approved March 14, 2013)

Meeting called to Order at 6:30 PM by Vice Chair Jerry Wroblewski with Opening Prayer led by Len Pilato. Roll Call: Present: Vice Chair Jerry Wroblewski, Members: Paul Golsch, Mary Ann Musser, Sue Grates, Tom Mangiapane, Leonard Pilato, Pat DesJardins, Laurie Marrocco (Welcome!), & Fr. Rob Par. Excused: Chair Molly Bass, Secretary Elizabeth V. Weisenbach.

October Minutes were approved by consensus. Mary Ann Musser led a service that was well attended to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe. Parish Dinner is scheduled for Sunday, November 11 from 1:30-3:00 PM. Priscilla Kreh is chair. Saturday Masses will again shift to 4:00 PM during the time of Daylight Savings. The Cohort/Core group reports are completed and turned into the Bishop for the decision phase. Questions regarding music need to be referred to the Liturgy Commission. The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council and the Bishop of Saginaw recommend that each Council be associated with a parish, so the local council requested to join with St. Roch Parish. They will be selling their hall in Pigeon. St. Roch Parish Council thanks Marie Quinn for her many years of dedicated service to our parish and wish her well in her retirement from Parish Secretary. Susan Grates, long time and active member of St. Roch Parish was hired for the position. She started on November 1, 2012 and Maries last day will be November 16 to provide time for Sue to be trained. The Council welcomes and offers prayerful support to Sue. Administrative responsibilities have shifted in light of this change. The Parish Secretary will manage the office, publish the bulletin, and potentially manage the webpage. All finance responsibilities have all shifted to the finance committee and staff. The money counters are going to be made into teams and will count the money outside of the office to reduce distraction. There was discussion regarding fundraising and the need for new hymn books. The discussion regarding coffee/donuts after Mass and other social time once a month will continue. Sue Grates resigned from the Parish Council as it conflicts with her new paid position at the parish.
