Evaluation: What changed between the rough and final edit of the opening title sequence?

Introduction of eerie music At first there was no atmosphere to the clips however with the trial and error, we found a soundtrack which was typical of the horror genre and conveyed the genre of our opening well, without being overpowering in volume or distracting with lyrics. Introduction of headings The headings and names were made to appear in different places that we deemed would be best so that we could see the words without there being too much trouble reading them to distract the viewers from the actual shot. We replaced the shot of Alex running to the left with one of her running to the right. This was done for continuity as we noticed that the first shot of Alex running to the left, ruined the continuity of all of the other shots with her running to the right and caused disorientation. Small flickering shots were added. This was not only to make her running more separated and to increase the jolt of the shots, but it was also used to incorporate her flashbacks of the memory of her dead friends. Echoing laughter The eerie echoing laughter was added to really give the creepy nature of the opening sequence that feel of a horror movie opening. The laughter was a separate track used to enhance the horror at certain moments. Memories were in bright settings, now black and white Originally the memories were shot under a higher brightness setting, however, this made the scenes look too cheerful for something from the horror genre. We changed the brightness black and lowered saturation for a black and white effect, to more clearly indicate that certain sections are memories.
