Subject Topic: Math Grade: 5th Grade Students: 28

OBJECTIVES: To recognize simple math facts To divide by single digit divisors

STANDARDS:
N.FL.05.05 Solve applied problems involving multiplication and division of whole numbers.* N.FL.05.06 Divide fluently up to a four-digit number by a two-digit number.

MATERIALS: Flash Cards White boards Two digit worksheets

INSTRUCTION: Preparation: To prepare for this particular lesson I will need to have my math fact flash cards in front of the classroom.

Introduction: To introduce todays lesson I will need to model the fundamentals of long division and the importance of the process of long division.

Anticipatory Set: Review previous days lesson by using white boards. Mention to students about fundamentals needed for long division. Model the fundamentals on board, have students repeat back to you the fundamentals of long division 3 questions from the board

Direct Instruction: Model Divide Multiply Subtract Bring down Check division

CLOSING: Hand out worksheets.

TRANSITIONS: To transition into the next class the students will clear off desks and wait for further instruction

ASSESSMENT: Informal assessment: Check for students understanding while discussing the fundamentals of long division. Formal assessment: 4-5 lesson worksheet.
