Course Reflection EDT756 Media Literacy 2 Spring 2011

The course Media Literacy 2 focused on the elements of video production, storyboarding, editing, and how these various elements can be manipulated to reach a set audience. Throughout the course various samples of videos were viewed and analyzed to determine camera angles and tone. During the course a mock newscast was done in a production studio and control room. After receiving weeks of background information and hands-on experience in production techniques I worked collaboratively with two classmates to develop a mini video. The project began with brainstorming sessions to gather ideas for a group video, developing a storyboard, score selection, video recording, and editing using a movie making program. The final result was a movie that reflected the meaning behind love and happiness throughout generations. The video was made as an educational project so the song chosen for the score is not released for commercial use. Due to copyright regulations the video (all though touching), cannot legally be added as an artifact for this course.
