Design of Biomedical Electronics

Instructor: Mahsa Rouhanizadeh, PhD Homework Problem Set II Due: Tuesday, January 22, 2013 (before the end of the lecture on that day) Reading suggestion: supplement reading 1 and 2 and first chapter of Webster. 1) Find the Thvenin equivalent at Vo for the following circuit,

Figure 1 2) For the following circuit (a) Find the V0 when there is no load; (b) Find V0 when RLoad = 25 k; (c) Find V0 when RLoad =10 M; (d) If you have two digital voltage meters with input impedance of 1 M and 20M, which one do you think will give a more accurate result?

Figure 2 3) Find the Thevenin equivalent circuit (voltage source with a series resistance) for above circuit shown in Figure 2. Repeat the calculation on problem 1 (a-d). 4) Find the Thevenin equivalent circuit (VT and Ro) for the following circuit:

Figure 3 5) Find the input and output impedance (same as resistance) for the following circuit. If R1 = R2 = 20 K, can this circuit drive a second device with the input resistance (load resistance) of 1 K (Explain why)?
