Jeremiah: High Ethan: average Deivion: Low Whole Class: For my showcase lesson I used lesson 4. As a whole class the students made substantial progress from the pre assessment to the post assessment. I went around to each of the students the day before I taught the lesson and asked the students if they knew what a life cycle was. There was only one student that was able to explain to me correctly what a life cycle was, and it was my high student Jeremiah. But by the end of my lesson while sequencing the butterflys life cycle all

of the students were able to tell me what a life cycle was with little or no help, and they were all able to recall the butterflys life cycle. According to the graph above there was 99% progress with the students being able to recall what a life cycle is, with the exception of Jeremiah who already knew what it was. Three individual Students: Jeremiah: Jeremiah is the student that chose as my high student. I chose him because he is one of the top students in the class and scores high on all of his assessments. He puts forth a lot of effort into all that he does. For my showcase lesson, the life cycle of a butterfly he was the only student that already knew what a life cycle was, but he could not tell me a butterflys life cycle. According to my assessments from pre to post Jeremiah made progress with the fact that before even though he knew what a life cycle was he did not know a butterflys life cycle, but by the end of the lesson he did. He was able to tell me all of the stages and correctly put them in order. Ethan: I chose Ethan as my average student because he is a bright boy who does well in most all of his work, but he doesnt put a lot of effort into everything. For my showcase lesson Ethan did as I expected him to. For the pre assessment, when I did the checklist asking them if they knew what a life cycle was he did not. But by the end of the lesson when we were doing the post assessment he could explain to me what a life cycle was and he was able to sequence it with very little help. Deivion: I chose Deivion as my low student because in the class he has the lowest scores on all of his work. Deivion does not put any effort into his work and often says he cannot do anything. He has no self confidence. But he showed by far showed the most progress out of all of my students looking at the assessments as a whole. He went from the first lesson not listening to anything and doing whatever he wanted. But by the last lesson I taught I had finally formed a bond with him because of working with him individually every morning I was there. When I did the pre assessment on Deivion his answer was the same as all but Jeremiah, he did not know what a life cycle was. But when I did the post assessment with him he was able to tell me what a life cycle was. He could not correctly sequencing completely by himself, but with a little help from looking back through the magazine that we read he was able to correctly sequence the life cycle. I was the most proud of Deivion and the progress that he made in the short amount of time that I was there and had the opportunity to create a wonderful relationship with him.
