VS

Jean Louise Scout Finch

Mayella is seen as fragile and an example of southern womanhood due to how she presents herself in courtroom. Scout is a fighter as she responds with her fists in situations. Jean Louise has no interest in southern womanhood and has a more tomboyish attitude/style. Mayella is beaten and possibly raped by her father unlike Scout who is loved and well taken care of by not only her father, but her entire family.
