    JHONSONS RULE

    N JOBS IN TWO MACHINES

    The objective of this approach is to minimize the flow time from the beginning of the first job to the finish of the last. Jhonsons rule consists of the following steps:

    List of operation time for each job on both machines. Select the shortest operating time. If the shortest operating time is for the first machine, do the job first. If it is for the second machine do the job last. Repeat step 2 and 3 for each remaining job until the schedule is complete.
