On one side there is a picture of the person or event, on the flip side is a short biography of the persons life and achievements. This project can be any size and shape that you would like. Steps 1. Choose a person who influenced Canada between 1850 and 1919. You may choose from the list bellow or come up with your own and have it approved by a teacher. Nobody can do Sir John A. Macdonald. 2. Develop questions that you want to ask about the person. a. Ex: PERSON - where and when were they born? What was their childhood like? What was a main influence in their life? What did they do that influenced Canada? 3. Create an outline for the written half of the card. This biography should be in the form of three well-written paragraphs. A paragraph is at least 5 complete sentences. 4. Research your topic. You may use: biographies, reports, books, websites etc.. a. Keep the hyperlink or the bibliographical information to all of your references 5. Find or create a picture for the front of your trading card. a. Keep the hyperlink or the bibliographical information to all of your references 6. Summarize your information and plug it into your outline. 7. Create a rough draft of your written piece. a. Have a peer correct it and sign the rough draft. b. You must hand in the rough draft with the final product. 8. Create a final draft. a. Can be typed or hand written. b. If typed use Times New Roman 12 point font. c. If hand written it must be legible. 9. Glue your biography and picture on opposite sides of a piece of cardboard/construction paper to make it sturdy. Then trim off the extra. 10. Make sure that your name, the date, the class, the teachers name and the title of your topic is somewhere on your trading card that is stylistically appropriate.
