Monday 3rd June

MON 3rd Martyrs of Uganda 1885-7, 1977 Give thanks for those whom we remember today for giving their lives for their faith, and pray for those who are persecuted for their faith today. TUES 4th Petroc, abbot, 6th cent Pray for b-inspired, our Diocesan youth network, as they hold events which inspire young Church members and young people at large. Give thanks to God for the members of the Bishops Youth Council and for the gifts and talents of young adults. WED 5th Boniface (Wynfrith), bishop, martyr, 754 Revd Joshva Raja of SS Nicholas and Peter ad Vincula Curdworth prays that the church will grow in witnessing, welcoming and inviting new people. Please pray for the couples who are getting married in the church, that they may consider coming to the church after their marriage. THURS 6th Ini Kopuria, Melanesian Brotherhood, 1945 Please offer thanks for precious parks, reserves and countryside in our diocese. We ask for Gods blessing on those who farm the land and pray that we would be good stewards of creation, using resources for the common good. FRI 7th We remember in our prayers all lay and administrative staff in the diocese. We give thanks for their dedication in youth work, administration, finance and communication, remembering the many gifts of Christs body. SAT 8th Thomas Ken, bishop, nonjuror, hymn writer, 1711 Malawi is a desperately poor nation and is rated as the 10th most impoverished nation in the world by the UN. 85% of the population are employed in agriculture, most of these subsistence farmers. Please pray for the development of agriculture projects so that the food situation will be improved.
