MEET MNCRs VICE CHAIR NORTH CANDIDATE, TYLER BROWN

On April 2nd, 2013 it was announced that Tyler Brown will be the Team Hasek nominee to fill the capacity of Vice-Chair North of the Minnesota College Republicans. Tyler is a sophomore at St. Johns University and is majoring in Political Science. He currently serves as the Chairman of SJU/CSB College Republicans and serves in a Senate position on SJU student government. Tyler is originally from Sioux City, Iowa and graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 2011. During high school he was involved in sports, debate, and theatre; he also worked as a paid intern for a local law firm. His first political memory was when he asked his parents who Monica Lewinsky was. He is a Republican because he is optimistic about people, but pessimistic about government. He agrees with Thomas Jeffersons notion that he would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it. He became further interested in politics when he realized he had a talent in solving problems and enjoyed employing problem solving skills. As Chairman of SJU/CSB College Republicans, Tyler has tripled the average meeting turnout. If elected to Vice-Chair North, Tyler will bring his determined attitude to Minnesota College Republicans. He notes that he may not have an abundance of experience, but he will easily compensate for this with his determination to perform every task bestowed upon him to the best of his abilities. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys playing golf, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. One thing on his bucket list is to participate in a flash mob.
