Did you know that Metro Light Rail is coming to Downtown Phoenix? In December 2008
Metro Light Rail will begin service, transporting commuters, theater and sports fans to

The Daily Grind is on the ground floor of the the Phelps


Dodge Tower, fronting Central Avenue. Denise and Gary
Bismore, owners of the Silver Spoon Café, opened their
second restaurant in the downtown area in 2007. The Daily

Fate is located in a renovated historic home just north


of the core of downtown. Chef Johnny Chu delivers his
unique brand of Asian cuisine with a variety of dishes
inspired by his native Hong Kong. In the house next to
Fate, is a martini bar named “Next Door”. Chef Chu
opened his second downtown restaurant, Sens, in

Thai Elephant is the latest restaurant from the folks who
brought Thai Basil to the valley. Located in the heart of
downtown, Thai Elephant opened in the Spring of 2008
providing downtown diners with excellent Thai food. Thai
Elephant is located in the Raskins Building at the north-

Sam’s Café, located in the Arizona Center Grotto has


been serving delicious southwestern grill food in a beauti-
ful garden setting for many years. Sam’s Café is open for

Foccacia Fiorentina has long been a favorite downtown


restaurant. Previously located on the ground floor of the
historic Valley National Bank Building, three years ago
Focaccia moved across Central Avenue to the first floor of
the Heard Building. Focaccia is a two time winner of New
Time’s Best Downtown Lunch and features a menu chock-

The Hero Factory is in the ground floor of the historic


Orpheum Lofts. The Hero Factory opened earlier this
year and has enjoyed great success with patrons crowd-
ing the restaurant during lunch hour for a taste of their
