IP address dialing is where you can call another party using their IP address.

The advantage to this is that neither yourself nor the person you are calling are required to sign up with a SIP provider, nor do you need to use the Axon PBX software. The disadvantage is that you need to know the IP address of the other party, and it may cause frustration dialing externally if the other end is using a dynamic external IP address. Additionally, you won't be able to call people using proper SIP or Axon numbers using an IP dialing-configured line. To setup Express Talk for IP dialing, nominate a line to use and then configure its setting as follows: Full 'Friendly' Display Name: anything SIP number: anything (not blank) Server: leave blank Password: leave blank To use IP dialing to call someone else, first check to ensure that the other party has also configured a line as explained above. To call them, use the format [username]@[IP address] where [username] is whatever they have used as their "SIP Number", and [IP address] is their internal or external IP address (if they are on the same network as you, you can use their internal address). Examples of IP dialed numbers are 'joe@69.56.23.57:5070' and 'bill@192.168.0.201:5070'. Port Setting In Options/Network there is a setting 'Local Port to listen on' and this defaults to 5070. For direct PC to PC dialing you must specify the same port in the URI. e.g. bill@192.168.0.201:5070 If you use a different port you must appropriately update the port
