Media Advisory County Executive to Honor Volunteers for Service

They gave of themselves and now Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy is honoring them. Please Join the County Executive for the 2013 Albany County Executives Volunteer Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 23rd at 10 a.m. in the Cahill Room at 112 State Street. Honorees include a group of volunteers from New Scotland who have driven more than 28,000 miles in their own vehicles to provide transportation to seniors in the Hilltowns, a 15-year old girl who has collected more than 1,300 Christmas gifts for children over the last five years, the leaders of the Delmar-Bethlehem EMS, the co-founders of the Watervliet Historical Society and a longtime volunteer from Cohoes who has been active in the community for decades. The ceremony will feature moving tributes to the volunteers by the people who nominated them including Assemblyman John McDonald III and Watervliet Mayor Michael Manning. ###
