Mechanism

Mechanism is an assembly of rigid elements (linkages) arranged and connected to form a closed kinematic chain with one link fixed in order to transmit motion in a predetermined fashion.

Mechanism consists of linkages and joints.

Machine is an arrangement of parts for doing work,

and applying power . Structure is an assembly of parts for supporting loads.
