Since its official opening in 1977, Kilimanjaro National Park has become one of Tanzanias most visited parks.

Unlike the other northern parks, this isnt for the wildlife although wildlife is there. Rather, its to gaze in awe at a mountain on the equator capped with snow, and to take advantage of the chance to climb to the top of Africa. At the heart of the park is the 5896m Mt Kilimanjaro, Africas highest peak and one of the continents magnificent sights. Its also one of the highest volcanoes and among the highest freestanding mountains in the world, rising from cultivated farmlands on the lower levels, through lush rainforest to alpine meadows, and finally across a barren lunar landscape to the twin summits of Kibo and Mawenzi. A trek up Kilimanjaro lures hundreds of trekkers each year, in part because its possible to walk to the summit without ropes or technical climbing experience. Yet, the climb is a serious (and expensive) undertaking, and only worth doing with the right preparation.

Itinerary for Kilimanjaro Trek, Tanzania Total Trekking : 67 kms, Total Ascend : 3916 m / 12848 ft
Day 1: Chatrapati Shivaji Airport, Mumbai (BOM) to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) Via Bole, Addis Ababa (ADD) Pickup from the Airport and Transfer to Arusha. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 2: Arusha Marangu Mandara Drive 2 hrs, Trek 7 Km, 4 -5 hrs, Ascent 720m, Alt: 2,700m Dinner and overnight Mandara Hut

Day 3: Mandara Horombo Trek: 11Km, 5-7hrs, Ascent 1020m, Alt 3,720m Dinner and overnight Horombo Hut

Day 4: Horombo Kibo Trek 10km, 5 -7hrs, Ascent 1106 Alt: 4,826 Dinner and overnight Kibo Hut

Day 5a: Kibo UHURU PEAK Trek: 6km, 7-8 hrs, Ascent 1070, Alt 5,896.

Day 5B: UHURU PEAK - Horombo Trek 16km, 4-6hrs, Descent 2176, Alt 3,720m Dinner and overnight Horombo Hut Day 6: Horombo Marangu Arusha.

Trek, 18km, 3-5hrs, Descend 1740, Drive 2 hrs to Arusha. Overnight in Hotel. Day 7: Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) to Chatrapati Shivaji Airport, Mumbai (BOM) Via Bole, Addis Ababa (ADD) Day 8 : Reaches Mumbai TOUR ENDS
