Making an Interactive Table of Contents in PowerPoint

Build It, Then Link It


Type out your table of contents and continue to build your PowerPoint presentation.
When you are all done, then you can make your table of contents interactive.

Example - Directions
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Were going to start with a link to the title page. Highlight the text you want to link with your mouse. Click Insert then Hyperlink Click Place in This Document Click on the plus (+) box next to Slide Titles Click on the slide you want to link to and click OK Repeat these directions for each item in your table of contents.

Adding a Link Back to Contents


You can either create a link back to contents by inserting a text box on each slide, or you can create a permanent link via the Slide Master To create a permanent link for the whole presentation: 1. Click View then Master then Slide Master 2. Click on the footer box and delete it 3. Click Insert then Text Box 4. Draw the text box where the footer box used to be 5. Type some text such as: Back to Contents Page 6. Highlight the text in the box with your mouse. 7. Click Insert then Hyperlink 8. Click Place in This Document 9. Click on the plus (+) box next to Slide Titles 10. Click on the table of contents slide title and click OK 11. Click Close
