How did you feel about your paper at the start of this writing session?

What were you confident about with the essay, and what were you concerned about? Did you have a particular goal in mind for todays session, and if so, to what extent did you meet that goal?

At the beginning of this writing session, I was most confident with the examples that I have to back up which literary devices help construct the theme of the poem. I am most concerned with the length of my essay and the paragraph structures and general flow. My goal for today was to "beef up" my paragraphs, re-arranging the paragraph context to make the examples provided more efficient within the paper itself. I was able to work on the body paragraphs more so than the introduction and conclusions paragraphs, but I will definitely have to go back to the poem I chose for at least two more examples.

If revision means to re-see your writing in a new way, then how does that apply to the work you did today? What new things did you see in (or about) your paper, and how did they affect your vision for what your essay should be like?

After spending some time away from this essay, I was able to notice mistakes I had made in word choice or grammar that I had not picked up on before. It was as if I was reading someone else's paper and making corrections for them, rather than looking at my own paper. It helped me take a better look at the topic in general, and to gain a better understanding of the points I would like to get across to the reader.
