PYP Parent Information Session: April 23, 2013

Dear Parents,
What is the PYP?
As the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator at ENS, I work with the teachers to develop
Units of Inquiry across grades KG1-5. The PYP aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and
caring young people that become active, compassionate, lifelong learners. Teaching in the PYP
is a little different than in other schools, as the focus is on the child being an active participant
of the process.
In order to help you to understand the PYP, and to give you an opportunity to ask questions
about the program, I would like to invite you to participate in hands on activity sessions on
Tuesday April 23. The sessions will be held in the PYP Meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Al
Manasir building, and there will be two sessions, starting at 2pm and 4pm. Note that this is
also the day of our parent/teacher conferences, so Im hoping that you will be able to find some
time either before or after speaking with the teachers to learn more about the PYP at ENS.
