Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating your Weebly Website and creating a Voki and a Screencast

1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) Go to www.weebly.com Type in full name, email address and password Click Sign Up. Its Free! Enter a title for your website Click down arrow and choose type of site education Click continue Choose your Website Domain use the top suggestion because it is free Use a Subdomain of Weebly.com It will put up a green checkmark and say available if that name is available. If not, try another name. Dont forget to write down your website address. 8) Now, you are at your home page of your site! 9) Choose a design from the top toolbar by clicking the Design tab, then on the left of your screen, click the down arrow beside ALL THEMES and look around for a design you like. Note: There are several pages to look through. If you do not like any of them, or just want to personalize your picture, you can choose to upload a picture by clicking on the top right corner (down arrow on the orange tab Edit Image) of the picture that came up originally. Choose Edit Image Click Add Image from top left Click Upload a Photo From Your Computer

 Double click on the image you would like and wait on it to upload. You may have to crop the picture by sliding it down or up, or sideways. Once you have it like you want it, click OK and then SAVE in the top right. 10)Now, it is time to start adding elements to your page. 11)Click the elements tab and look at your choices. It depends on what you want to add as to which element you drag down on your page. Drag it down and let go. Then you can add what you want text, or text and pictures, etc. 12) To add more pages, just click the Pages tab at the top and it carries you back to the area to set up additional pages. 13) Click Add Page at the top of this page and you will most likely want to add a standard page. 14) Type in a name for this page and then click the blue arrow and your new page name will appear. (Note: You can change the order of your pages or make them sub-pages later depending on the set-up you would like for your site.) 15) You can add a YouTube video, or a word file (as an embedded document). It saves the word document as a ScribD file which makes it easy to upload documents for students and parents to access on your website, such as worksheets that were assigned for homework or spelling words, etc. It takes a little while to them to upload.

Remember: If any of the elements cost, they will have Pro written beside them and a popup will come up if you click on them that will show the cost. 16) To be able to see your site and for others to view it, click Publish at the top right and then click continue. 17) You will be prompted to verify that you are human by typing in words shown. Type them in and click Publish. 18) A message pops up saying Website Published. 19) You can close out and log in at the web address you wrote down to view how your site will look to others. 20) Anytime you want to edit your site, you go to www.weebly.com and log in using the email address you used to set up your account. 21) You will learn more and more every time you log in!

Now, lets create a Voki.. Go to www.voki.com Create an account. To upload it to your weebly site, copy the embed code, go back to weebly and edit the page you want to add it to. Click on Basic Elements Custom HTML and enter the embed code. Your Voki will upload. Sometimes I like to type in the words and sometimes I speak into a microphone to have my actual voice.

What about a screencast like mine to introduce parents and students to Spelling City.. Go to www.screencastomatic.com Set up a free account with your email address, etc. It is very easywatch the video and it will really walk you through what to do. You will want to use a headset with a microphone to record yourself so it can be heard best. Once you record it, upload it to Screencast-o-matic or to YouTube if you have an account. Then, save the embed code and you can embed it the same way as the Voki onto your webpage.
