What kind of media institution might distribute your media project and why?

The main aspect of the last girl and the obsessive murders can be linked to Scream distributed by Dimension Films. I feel this would be beneficial as a distributor as it has had great success in the distribution of Scream earning $604,281,850 from its 4 films. It is a well-known series of films which can be compared to Edward as it shares certain elements of the horror such as the last girl, the theme of serial murder and of several victims.

The similarities between Edward and Scream can be seen through the choice of dark setting, bold typography and thriller like atmosphere. Although Scream possesses more graphic imagery than Edward we felt it was important to emphasise the subgenre of human monster through the chase rather than gore. This makes our production unique when compared to other horrors yet similar in its overall storyline. Therefore a smaller production company such as Dimension films would be a good distributor to market our film. Its well known reputation of producing thrilling horrors suits Edward and we feel would market our film as a unique product.
