Aim: To study the reflection of light Hypothesis: Light is reflected at an angle equal to the angle at which it hits the

surface. Apparatus: Mirror, plasticine, protractor, white paper, torclight, carboard

mirror plasticine protractor White paper

Tube A Torch line N

Tube B

Procedure: 1. Roll up two pieces of cardboard to make two cardboards tubes. Label them tube A and tube B. 2. Place tube A in the position as shown if Figure above. 3. Measure the angle between line N and the cardboard tube A. 4. Switch on the torchlight. Adjust the position of tube A so that the light hits the mirror opposite of line N. 5. Position your eye to look trough tube B. Adjust tube B until you can see the torchlight at the end of the tube A. 6. Now measure the angle between tube B and line N. Observation: The angle between tube A and line N is the same as the angle between tube B and line N. Conclusion: Light is reflected at an equal to the angle at which it hits the surface.
