Implementation of Magazine Cover

We are going to make a magazine cover for Empire magazine. We are choosing to use Empire magazine because their magazine is for younger readers and our films target audience is inbetween 15-30. The inspiration for our poster comes from the iron man 3 magazine cover by Empire magazine.

This magazine cover composes Robert Downey Jr. character Iron Man central in front of the heading. He is the main character of the film an so we decided to use our main characters in our magazine cover.

We started with the magazine title as the base layer. We kept the title in the traditional red colour of the magazine cover as it goes with a theme in our film, violence.

We then inputted the pictures of our two main characters. Our Hitman is in a more dominant pose and Richard Smith is looking to the side as if he doesnt know what is going on. He seems out of place which is the tone we wanted to set.

We also added this slogan at the top of the magazine cover to help attract readers. Also, we were told that the film reminds people of Taken and so we taught of using that on our cover.

We added the title of the film ahead of Next we added the background of London city because this is where the film is based and it makes our two characters seem bigger than the city. our main characters and on the centre of the magazine cover to try and attract readers into buying the magazine. We chose to keep the writing in red because it goes with the theme of violence and is the same colour as the magazine title. The font of the title and the other text is in Typography Pro.

Finally we added all the other text that a magazine cover usually would have and in the same font. We changed the colour of certain fonts to white to contrast with the black on the clothing of our characters.
