The Egyptian book of the dead was designed to provide the dead with all of the necessary spells and prayers to venture through the underworld or Duat to the afterlife. The book of the dead was mostly used and created for pharaohs and other people with wealth and power. The book represents the many gods and judgments you must face and provides the proper rituals and spells to make it to the place of eternal rest. The book was popular in the new Kingdom and was printed on papyrus scroll.
The most Artistic and famous copy was made for the pharaoh Ani who was very focused and concerned on the afterlife.
