Some of my favorite memories are watching game with my dad at home. Its an activity I still enjoy; only now we watch those games together so he can gather material for his 10:30 p.m. show on your station. He has instilled in me a passion for sports, and a desire to apply my communication skills to the sports industry with Comcast SportsNet in Maryland. As a Communication major with a focus in public relations, I am interested in the media, but specifically sports media. Comcast SportsNet is a reliable source in the metropolitan area and one of the channels you can usually find my TV on. I would love to gain my first experience as an intern with a company I adore. Being a student athlete at the University of Maryland requires time management skills in order to juggle both school and practice. I consider my leadership skills to be my strongest characteristic, however. In high school I was part of a mentor program, Top Dogs, which focused on helping troubled underclassman. I helped my buddy with academic and social issues and succeeded in helping him improve his grades. In addition to working well with others, I am also a problem solver. As a student athlete, I am constantly faced with adversity but I will not give up until I find a way to get through it. I am currently in a public relations class that has taught me how to write news releases, articles, and Radio and TV scripts. Most importantly, I have a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
