Step 1.
Condition 1/2 Translucent Frost and add four 2cm/2cm squares of Yellow Clay that has been rolled on the #1 setting of the Makins Pasta Machine (the thickest setting).

Step 2.
Condition 1/2 Translucent Frost and add four 2cm/2cm squares of Blue Clay that has been rolled on the #1 setting of the Makins Pasta Machine (the thickest setting).

Step 3.
You will now have two sheets of translucent clay tinted with colour. Rolled out on the #1 Setting of the Makins Pasta Machine (the thickest setting).

Step 4.
Cut each sheet diagonally.

Step 5.
Now stack the yellow to the yellow and the blue to the blue. Make this into a Skinner Blend (as shown below).

Step 6.

Step 9.
Roll into a Skinner Blend Plug. Reducing the low thing roll into a short fat one. This is viewing the plug with the translucent blue at the bottom (on top of the tile). To shorten the cane, compress it using a sort of reverse reduction process, working the ends of the clay toward the centre.

Step 10.
This is another view of the Skinner Blend Plug. Now lay the plug down so that all colours are touching the tile.

Step 11.
Stretch out the plug and pull it to make it longer. Continue pinching and stretching the piece out to form a strip approximately twice the thickness of the thickest setting of your pasta machine. A 4 Acrylic Brayer is useful here.

Step 12.
Continue stretching out the plug and pull it to make it longer.

Step 13.
Roll a sheet of white clay (1 block white clay) through the medium-thin setting of the pasta machine (#3 on the Makins). Leaving a margin all around the coloured plug of clay.

Step 14.
This is what you get (a belt of clay) after you have rolled the clay through the Makins Pasta Machine on the #1 setting (the thickest setting).
