    Kurt Vonnegut was an American author known for blending fiction and reality in his novels, many of which were based on his experiences in World War II. One of his most famous novels, Slaughterhouse-Five, incorporates time travel and a nonlinear plot where events can happen simultaneously or in any order. The novel follows Billy Pilgrim, who like Vonnegut was a prisoner of war in Dresden. Billy experiences the bombing of Dresden both as it happens and in other points in his life, as his existence seems to operate outside of a linear concept of time. Though controversial, Vonnegut's writing tackled real issues in an honest way.

    Part 1: Kurt Vonnegut Kurt Vonnegut, born in Indianapolis, Indiana has become one of the most popular American authors of all time. Shaped by his personal encounters with war as a WWII veteran and POW, Vonnegut has become famous for his strong protest of war. So it goes. Some of Vonneguts most famous novels are Cats Cradle, Breakfast for Champions, and Slaughterhouse 5. Interesting enough, the latter of the three novels is actually partially based of Vonneguts actual experiences, having actually been at the bombing of Dresden. More impressive than his blend of fiction and reality, was hit use of time-travel as a plot of device. According to the novel, everything was happening at once. The beginning of the story was the end --- potweet --- and the end of the story was the beginning, the plot was circular rather than linear. The same time someone is being born, they were in fact dieing. So it goes. Even today, many of Vonneguts novels are common assigned readings of the high school class room. However, the controversy of his books have caused many districts to ban his classics due to vulgarity etc. However, the great thing about Vonnegut is that his writing is honest --Potweet. So it goes.

    Part 2: Billy Pilgrim Billy Pilgrim is dead. So it goes. This morning Billy woke up in the hospital tent. The germans caught him --- Potweet. The Nazis took his clothes leaving him feeling bare. So it goes. Whoosh this morning Billy was also born --- the bombs fell on Dresden, Billy has long been a POW now. So it goes. Aliens are real, said Billy. So it goes. Billy is dead --- like a circle Billy opens at the close --- today is also yesterday --- Billy is dead. So it goes. --- Potweet! Billy put on the blue toga and silver boots, any clothes were better than the ones he were mocked in --- The bombs on Dresden fell --- Potweet. So it goes. Billy wants to be an ophthalmologist Billy is an ophthalmologist --- So It goes. Billy was stupid. So it goes. They aliens took Billy today --- Billy is dead. So it goes. Billy Pilgrim. So it goes.

    So it goes.
