    The writing assessment for this activity was informal. Students were asked to write a letter to Ruby Bridges with complete sentences. Students already knew what their sentences had to include.
    A sentence, starts with a capital, ends with an end mark and makes sense In regards to the reading, I knew the students had an understanding because they were actively involved in the discussion about the book and asked in depth questions about Ruby Bridges.
