Young Philanthropists ENS ADC Market Week18th 21st of March 2013 A group of students from grades 11 and 12 as part

t of their Business and Entrepreneurship elective course had to create companies over series of weeks and all their hard work was going to show during the ENS ADC Marketing Week, which was from the 18th to the 21st of March. During this week the companies presented their goods and services to their target markets, which were the school community, including students from grade 5 to 12, faculty members and parents too. Dashing Events was one of the companies that took part at the ENS ADC Marketing Week 2013. Dashing Events was a company consisting of 5 different members from grade 11 and 12 Business and Entrepreneurship class: Rawdha AlDhaheri as the Chief Executive Officer, Amna AlBlooshi, Mariam AlMehairbi, Meera AlNeyadi and Rawdha AlKetbi. Their vision was to Dashing Events is an LTD that aspires to create memorable moments for you and your loved ones. And indeed they did. During Marketing Week Dashing Events had 3 different stalls, which were: a food stall, bracelet workshop and a photo booth. Many delicates and beverages were available at the food stall and there were day specials for each day of the Marketing Week, props and accessories were available for the photo booth and a choice to either make your own bracelet or buy a ready-made one. D.E. hired 5 volunteers that were helping to facilitate the stalls due to the crowd that was increasing by the day at D.E.s stalls and as Mario Andretti said: If everything seems under control, youre just not going fast enough. D.E. earned an outstanding profit after their hard work during Marketing Week; which all came from their cooperation and team work, and they ended up with an amazing 11,575 AED that was donated to the Operation Smile Organization to fund over 12 surgeries for children with Cleft Palate.

Another company that took part in the Marketing Week was Sucr-Love Bakery. This was a company that consisted of 3 grade 12 students: Jawaher AlMenhali as the Chief Executive officer, Amna AlMarar and Fatima AlShamsi. Since they were all brilliant cooks, they came together to bring their vision to life, which was to: satisfy the cravings of the world by creating the most remarkable luxurious treats. They had a variety of delicates on their menu, such as: blueberry cheesecake, tiramisu, oreo truffles, fruits n cream and much more! Due to their delicious delights, they were able to raise 7,050 AED for their chosen organization, which was Dar AlBer Society.

The third company that also took part in the Marketing Week was Neiruato caf. Neiruato was a nail art partnership company that consists of 5 members, AlAnoud AlDhaheri as the Chief executive Officer, Alya AlZaabi, Aisha AlNuaimi, Maryam AlZaabi and Leen Moubbader. The companys mission was to: Applying the most unique nail designs youve ever seen, experienced or even though of; with delicious deserts as well! During the Marketing week Neiruato caf sold food and also had a nail bar of where they applied nail polish with all sorts of astonishing designs and a variety of colors. With that said, the companys vision was to: Our aim is conquering nails arts and design. And indeed they did. Neiruato caf hired talented students at ENS to help them with their services; and ending up with 2,448 AED that went to Sheikh Zayed Higher Organization.

Present YOU

Last but definitely not least, the fourth company that took part in ENS ADCs Marketing Week was Present You. Present you was a company consisting of 5 grade 11 students; Fayza Mukhair as the Chief Executive Officer, Maryam AlShamsi, Madia AlShamsi, Sheikha AlTunaiji and Fatima AlSuwaidi. Their vision was: To present a characters personality with just a bracelet. Present You had a variety of products other than the customized string bracelets that they offered, such as: masks, fans, delicates and a photo-shoot. During the duration of Marketing Week, all of their hard work was evident in the 4,042 AED that they were able to raise for Sheikh Zayed Higher Organization.

During ENS ADC Marketing Week, students showed excellent displays of the IB learner profiles, being knowledgeable taking what they had learned in quarters one and two and applying it. By being risk-takers by not to just thinking outside the box, but think as if there was no box and created businesses with their own vision, mission statements and also by achieving their objective to satisfy the target market. Our grade 11 and 12 students also displayed the profiles of being thinkers in creating their unique business concepts, being reflective by learning from their mistakes and developing their business ideas as the week progressed to meet the needs of their customers. All students proved themselves to be effective communicators in how professional they conducted their business and interacted with their cliental on a day to day basis. But most importantly of all the collaboration and teamwork that the students display was outstanding, and this is reflected by the massive profits they collectively earned by the end of the week.

It was a one-week journey was definitely worth the hard work for each and every individual that managed to become a philanthropist at a very young age. Not only did they help the less fortunate by raising an outstanding 25,115 AED for meaningful organizations, they also had the opportunity to learn the skills of a true entrepreneur and they were role models for the younger grades or those who wanted to pursuit business in the future.
