Do you think this looks futuristic? Why?

Input/explanation Before modern technology arrived, losing a part of or all of your leg meant that it would have to be replaced by a wooden leg the only other alternative would be to use crutches for the rest of your life. Now you can get a high-tech leg or arm, but it does not stop there. Look at this picture

Transcript He (Jens Naumann) has been blind for almost a decade. The doctor is obsessed with trying to make the blind see; he has been involved in this for more than 30 years. He needs the help of blind to understand and perfect the processes. What you see here is the beginning of the end of blindness, but people thought it was not safe, so they banned it. The doctor is prepared to accept the risks involved with innovation, and wants to continue. Other doctors are continuing to develop the technique but they dont want to turn it into a race. Wherever he (Jens Naumann) goes, he turns heads. He is known as patient alpha. He is the first person with a working artificial vision system. This is a cyborg like technology, planted right into his brain. After two decades in the dark, Jens can now see lines and shapes. Jens never accepted his blindness. He wanted a way out of the darkness. The term "cyborg" is used to refer to a human with robotic implants. Assignment 1. Work in pairs. 2. Use the words below. 3. Use things from the classroom and from your pencil box; an eraser, pencils, pens, a sharpener, pieces of paper, ink refills etc. Choose: arm or leg. Create an artificial arm on your table, using your pencil box things. Make sure you include all aspects of the leg or arm. Make a picture of your artificial arm with your cell phone or with the webcam on your laptop/computer and make sure to save it. Now take it apart.
