Dear Ms. Jessica Simon, I am writing you this in response to your email about an internship with the Alzheimers Association for spring 2013 I think I would be an excellent candidate for the Alzheimers Association internship. My experiences and coursework have well prepared for an opportunity such as this. I have learned many event planning strategies, crisis management and writing skills throughout my Public Relations classes. As a hostess/waitress, I have also gained high communication skills and I am able to multi task well. Also while at this job I am in charge of setting up and organizing the party room and the reservations. Campus involvement makes me a well-rounded student that is connected to the students and faculty at the University of Northern Iowa. I have developed good relationships throughout the community and campus. This would benefit the Alzheimers Association because I would be able to utilize these relationships to gain participation in during the Spring events. I am also personally connected to Alzheimers disease and know the effects it has on the person affected and that persons family.
