Response to Mirabellis Learning to Serve Mirabellis view of literacy is different from the traditional view of literacy by his view

of literacy being about how to behave in a social network instead of being about mental achievement with language. Mirabelli believes that we need to reexamine the way we understand literacy because the way we understand literacy limits our understanding of literacy in terms of how it can be used in a specific situation with multiple approaches of communication. Two quotes that I think make an impact on me are: the understanding that literate acts are embedded in specific situations and that they also extend beyond the printed text and Reading menus and reading customers also involves a myriad of cultural distinctions.. I really can agree with the quotes because they make great sense to me.
