7) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the

full product?

When looking back at the preliminary task, I think it is clear that we have progressed as a group in our commitment to the outcome of the product. Our willingness to re-film to come out with a result that we were all completely happy with shows in the finished product of Edward. Personally, I feel I have learnt a lot more about organisation skills and planning as the minor mistakes made in Getting By were often due to lack of preparation which meant the complete aesthetic was not achieved. In addition to this I feel my own photography skills have improved drastically. I feel this task allowed me to mentally develop my visual skills in seeing the shots as if they were on screen, I feel this made filming it far easier. Looking back on the filming of the preliminary, I feel my attention to detail has grown immensely. The filming of the preliminary shows little attention to change in lighting whereas the filming of Edward is consistent in its lighting and uses more complicated camera methods such as shallow focus.

After feedback on the preliminary I feel as a group we have put more thought into using a variety of shots and angles. After feedback from the preliminary it was evident we needed to ensure we engaged the audience by using a shorter camera distance from the action on screen. Edward provides an up close and personal insight into the narrative which provides a far improved quality of production which is interesting and engaging for audiences.
