Waterproof Breathable fabrics

Waterproof breathable fabrics - designed for use

protection from the environmental factors like wind, rain and loss of body heat. Completely prevents the penetration and absorption of liquid water. Term breathable implies that the fabric is actively ventilated. Passively allow water vapour to diffuse through them yet prevents the penetration of liquid water.

Types of

Waterproof fabrics

Water-resistant and moisture-permeable materials may be divided into three main categories high-density fabrics, resin-coated materials and film-laminated materials.

Desirable attributes for SPORTSWEAR

Optimum heat and moisture regulation Good air and water vapour permeability Rapid moisture absorption and conveyance

capacity Absence of dampness Dimensionally stable even when wet Durable Easy care Lightweight Soft and pleasant touch

2 Layer Fabric
The two layer structure two fabric layers

e.g. micro-denier polyester and the outer layer Cotton or rayon layer absorbs and the outer layer helps in evaporation. The use of superfine or microfibre yarn enables production of dense fabrics leads to capillary action that gives the best wicking properties.

Maintains body temperature Sprint events

Dry fit technology

Parachute canopy fabrics - high tensile NYLON

multifilament in the denier range of 32 to 200 deniers.
