FORUM IN DEFENCE OF CPSUs
Central Headquarters, New Delhi.
No Forum/CPSUs/2/3-09 Dated 24" March,09.
To
Respected Shri Manmohan Singh Ji,
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India,
South Block, New Delhi.
Sub: Holding of rally on 27" March ’09 and submission of
memoranda.
Respected Sir,
This is in continuation to our letter no Forum/CPSUs/1/3-09
wherein we have explicitly stated that the officers of all
strategic CPSUs are fully determined and committed to
secure justice for the officers of the Oil Sector whose
services have been arbitrarily terminated/put under
suspension for the simple reason that they gave vent to their
genuine and justified grievances through democratic and
legitimate means of protest.
That the Minister of Petroleum and Natural gas became so
much vindictive for very peaceful and democratic protest
actions simply demonstrates undermining legitimate
democratic process, of which protest is an integral and
inalienable ingredient, and on which the very pillars of Indian
democracy have been built. We are confident that as head of
Indian democratic system of governance of rule of law, your
Hon'ble self shall never accept such draconian attacks on
democratic functioning of institutions which form the very
basis of democracy. That is why we have sought your benign
immediate intervention about which we are quite confident. We make yet again an impassioned appeal to your Hon'ble
self to go into the entire issue of unwarranted victimization of
officers of oil sector, keeping in view the very serious and
undesirable impact such draconian actions of Minister of
petroleum and Natural gas will have on democratic and
legitimate functioning of Trade unions and Associations. We
are quite confident that, in broader and larger perspective of
encouraging democratic means of protest, your Hon’ble self
will decisively intervene by setting aside all the unjustified
and arbitrary punitive actions.
However, as a first step of expressing solidarity with the
victimized officers of the Oil Sector, the Forum in defence of
CPSUs is holding a Rally on 27 March, 09 during Lunch
hours. The Rally will start from BSNL Corporate office and
culminate at Parliament street police Station. Necessary
arrangements may kindly be made for the receipt of our
memoranda enlisting our genuine grievances and the
grounds prompting us to seek your kind intervention.
With kind regards,
Sincerely Yours,
G.L.Jogi,
OC ey
