Family By Megan E.

Hall (Poetic Freedom)

My family was demolished when we moved away. Pain and sorrow is all which my heart says. I close my eyes to grasp the bitter sweet sensation of memories. I let it take me whole. I let it embrace me. No more sorrow just luminous smiles and familiar laughter. Nana peals each corn husk with her aged hands, as the daughters stuff them tenderly with the sweet smelling spices. showing the grand children heritage and tradition. My cousins play in the garden with Papo, as the sweet grass tickles our bare feet. frolicking and jumping on rocks, looking out to the wide range of mountains, I think to myself I am home. I open my eyes and the love happiness of home leaves my sight.
