Disabled War Veteran Business Owner Needs Help Recovering Stolen Equipment (18 Wheeler Truck)
I need your help making sure no other business owner experience a truck repair man using the system (Department of Revenue) to steal the business owner's equipment. My Name is Johnny Lee Davis. I am a disabled war veteran with a small trucking business. I hired a repair man named Joe Dean to fix my trucks for over fifteen years. However, he managed to illegally acquire a title to one 2001 Freightliner Truck in my business worth over $15,000.00 despite being paid in full in advance for repair work and being in constant communications with me. I do not understand how this was possible and have never seen this type of crime in all my years of doing business. I had my title returned to me on October 17,2012 after going through the full process of proving to the Department of Revenue title division that my title was obtained illegally. Despite presenting documentation of illegal activity and perjury, the Department of Revenue did not charge anyone involved with a crime nor forward this crime to law enforcement. Douglas Hooper made me feel like the "criminal". I have the following questions: 1. Why I was not informed of the title changes by the Department of Revenue? 2. Why was more power given to the criminals instead of the law abiding citizens?
3. Why were no charges filed and/or forwarded to law enforcement especially in the area of perjury and making false statements? 4. Why do private citizens have to start over from the very beginning to have this crime file with law enforcement without any documentation from the Department of Revenue? I am forwarding documentation to the different departments in hopes of getting justice and making sure that no other business owner fall prey to this type of crime. I went through the full process and found the treatment I received to be demeaning and insulting. To this day, I am unable to get my equipment back or place the criminals in jail. I am forwarding a video testimonial of my experience and ask that you use my information to improve the law and/or process. I will also present a video to demonstrate how hard it is to file a police report to recover your equipment once the business owner has completed the process under the Department of Revenue. The Clayton County Police Department initially refused to make a report for stolen equipment. Video- Stop Commercial Vehicle Title Theft: http://youtu.be/hgW946MgsIO Future Video: Stop Commercial Vehicle Title Theft - Law Abiding Citizen's Nightmare in Filing Charges. Due to this crime, I have returned to working over the road truck delivery. I was in the process of placing two men to work for my business and the thievery caused a major setback in my business. In these times of recession, a small business owner cannot afford this type of criminal activity. The theft of an 18 Wheeler Truck needs to be elevated to a public safety and health issue due to the dangers this commercial truck may present. I am trying everything to prevent any harm to the public since I know my 18 Wheeler Truck is being operated illegally without proper documentation and/or insurance. You can reach me on my business phone at 404-309-0041 or contact my sister named Viola Davis at 909 Rays Road, Stone Mountain, Ga. 30083. I am a praying man and know that the lord answer prayers.
