ICTs IN EDUCATION

I will tackle a topic which deals with elementary education in the next document which I consider very important for my vocational education. At the present time, we have resources to foster learning in our students, the truth is that we are not able to deal with the advantages offered by new information technologies. Our school is still an institution which finds it difficult to face society changes. The education of our children is still based on a textbook and the written word. The correct use of ICTs would bring greater advances in education. I consider that ICTs have lots of advantages for the vocational education such as: IT removes temporary-space barriers between the teacher and the student and vice versa. It increases the chances of information, that is to say, getting the information from a textbook is not the same as switching on the computer and finding lots of information.

It creates more attractive, interesting and flexible scenarios for learning It encourages self-learning. It also provides you with a independent, collaborative and group learning It makes permanent education easier for both students and teachers

Bearing the advantages of ICTs in mind, it can be inferred that these are beneficial and necessary at school nowadays. All of these possibilities of improvement that ICTs provide us with cannot be carried out without teachers committed to the student learning. Nowadays, educators must look for new and more ambitious challenges like providing students with useful knowledge for daily life with current and attractive content that appeals to them so that they can feel like getting involved in education. Todays teacher must be in constant training, willing to enhance his teaching methods all the time.

To conclude, I should say that Escuela Viva can be found with the incorporation and correct use of ICTs that guarantees the integral development of our students and brings new learning styles. These new learning styles must be carried out by teachers with new ideas and new motivation although it will not be possible if we do not become aware of the importance of our children education which is a task that I consider very relevant since future depends on our students.
