Abstract
Various branches of natural resources such as water and soil resources consist of phenomena and
issues which cannot be measured by quantitative methods and since their quantitative approach is
difficult, time-consuming and costly, qualitative approach is applied for establish them. The
obscurities observed in natural meanings and phenomena had better be considered as an integral part
of these fields of science. Most common methods in water and soil management is not able to support
a large volume of qualitative and quantitative of environmental information. In addition, many of these
information are associated with ambiguity and uncertainty. Fuzzy logic puts these obscurities in
mathematical formation and preparations for decision-making and reasoning. Nature and the
Environment, with complexity, dynamism and uncertainty are associated. Fuzzy logic can be
instrumental because of first having simple and flexible meanings and then using ambiguous data and
complex models. In spite of, measureless application of Fuzzy logic in engineering, this technique in
research purpose of water and soil resources and other relative objectives is not popular yet. Especially
in some fields of this science it is not documented yet. As a result, it seems necessary to learn about
this technique and how to apply it in different branches of these sciences. This paper aims to offer
features of Fuzzy logic simply and indicate diffrent natural resources and environment studies in
which Fuzzy systems were applied.
