    Transcom Selects Vertical de Aviacion for Afghan Support


    The U.S. Transportation C ommand has issued a $214.2-million contract to Bogota, C olombia-based Vertical de Aviacion related to helicopter support services in Afghanistan. The agreement, which runs until Oct. 31, 2013, includes aircraft, pilots, mechanics and support personnel, tools, maintenance and management for passenger and cargo transportation in Afghanistan. Vertical de Aviacion is among six companies to receive extensions, with AAR, C anadian Helicopters, C olumbia Helicopters, C onstruction Helicopters, Evergreen Helicopters also winning bids on the multiple-award contract.
