ABSTRACT

In this experiment ,our first aim is to calibrate a flow nozzle, an orifice meter, a pitot tube and a rotameter by using tap water as a flowing fluid and learning principles of them. Then pressure differences caused by water flow is measured and log (m) vs log (h) graphs are plotted as calibration curves. Also it is aimed to estimate the change in pressure along the rough pipe with the changes in flow rate due frictional loss. Pressure drops on the rough pipe are measured for different distances. These procedures are repeated for different flowrates. Presure differences between certain points of the rough pipe are measured and employed in necessary equations to determine friction factor. Finally log (f) vs log (Re) is plotted. Then these friction factor values were compared with the theoretical data and equation to express f as a function of Re . .
