case is the Rent of Houses Act,
1991 This is so in accordance with
provisions of This section extends
)the application of the Act to . S.3 (1
(b) disputes on tenancy which were
pending before the trial courts on 20.
1. 1991 (i.e. the date the Act came
itno force ). The final decision was
made into this case 26.10.1991 As
this Act applies, S. 14 of it
providesthat the contract of tenancy
is
connected
to
Government
tenancy. However, the parties will
have to determine matters such as
rental amount according to the
relevant provisions of this Act. hence
the Court of Appeal was right to
quash the decree and refer the case
back to determine the question of
rent according to the relevan
proivisions of the act.
