Unit title: Dreams in 3D! Unit question: How does perception influence reality?

In the first lesson of art in quarter three, I was not happy at all because I dont like art and I thought I would be a total fail. We started learning about drawing 3d and 2d boxes in our sketch book. Ms Jen also taught us about vanishing points, horizon lines, 1 point perspective and 2 point perspective etc. In the second lesson she showed us a video about 1 point perspective which I didnt understand at all, but by practicing I understood that 1 point perspective means drawing in 3d but all the lines vanish at one point which is The Vanishing Point. She also told us about Surrealism now surrealism is an art movement that started in the 1920s, it was inspired by Dadaism. After practicing how to draw in one point perspective, she told us about 2 point perspectives. 2 point perspective is the same thing but we have 2 vanishing points instead of one vanishing point.

Then after practicing 2 point perspective Ms Jen told us that we have a project which is to draw a surrealist painting and we can choose if we want it to in 1 or 2 point perspective, we started by drawing three ideas in our sketch book and colouring them in. My idea was to draw a beauty street in 2 point perspective but I guess that didnt work. After choosing the best idea we had the choice to

draw it on a canvas or a paper, I did it on a canvas, it was really hard in the beginning because its the first time I draw on a canvas but I got used to it. My work was both 3d and 2d .Im not really happy with my painting because I didnt put all my effort into it, in this unit I used texture, form, colour, volume etc. I didnt really enjoy this unit because I thought it was hard although I learned lots of new things. I learned how to draw in 1 point and two point perspective; I also learned how to draw on a canvas.
