Sense of Community

Purpose
To determine variables that cause people to feel apart of a community.

Background
Sarson and Wright, from the University of Maryland,

did a similar study Possibility of transferring and/or drop-out Four major aspects of sense of community are membership, influence, integration and fulfillment of needs, and shared emotional connection

Why?
To reaffirm membership and integration within

various communities -Dorms -Overall campus Important to make a large campus feel smaller Your freshmen experiences are precedent for your next three years here Help realize things that influence sense of community personally
