A. Summary The workshop starts with an introductory session on social business where participants will be given an overview of what social business is about, the similarities and differences of a social enterprise from a regular business and how it could help solve social problems and bring positive changes in society. The session will give participants a thorough understanding of the 7 Principles of Professor Muhammad Yunus. It will also give insights into some of the worlds successful social enterprises, their best practices and the challenges they face. The session will provide a platform for question and answer where participants can ask questions and share insights with the group. At the end of the session, each participant will have a good understanding of social business and be prepared for the case-studies and SB idea generation sessions in the next workshop days.

C. Process The session starts at 1500 hours with opening comments and welcome remarks from workshop organizers. The speakers then proceed to discuss the nature and characteristics of social business as a concept and a reality within a range of socio-cultural context. The session

is in the form of an interactive discussion that actively engages participants. The session culminates in a question and answer followed by a synthesis and closing.
