Dear Parents, I am so excited to be able to welcome your child into my classroom this year. It is a privilege to be able to help your child gain the skills he or she will need in order to excel throughout his/her school career, and I cannot thank you enough for this opportunity. Autobiography
This month your child will begin gathering and organizing information to complete his/her autobiography. In order to complete this project your child will need help completing a family tree that extends back three generations. The form to help your child gather his/her genealogical information is attached to this newsletter. Please ensure that My Family Tree is handed in no later than September 5, 2012. The autobiography assignment will extend over the next three months. During this time we will work on expanding your childs knowledge of various computer programs which will then be used to create a digital autobiographical presentation This assignment will help your child not only meet a number of Idaho Content Standards in creativity and communication, but give him/her a sense of accomplishment. *All work that requires the use of a computer will be completed in the classroom.*
