TUBE LIGHT CHOKE TEST

1 no. of 40 watt Bajaj Make Flourscent Tube light was tested on normal & electronic choke as per follows: Normal Choke: Wonder make full polyester flourscent ballast Operating Voltage: 180 240 v Watt Consumption: 40 watt Electronic Choke: 1. Micro make ballast Power Supply: 230 v / 50 Hz Operating Voltage: 60 400 v Watt Consumption: 25 W to 30 W Power Factor: 0.9 2. Opal (Electrostreaks India) make ES 40S Electronic ballast Power Supply: 240 v , 50/60 Hz Operating Voltage: 100 300 v Current: 150 mA Power Factor: > 0.93

CONCLUSION:
So it is observed from above testing that if GEB voltage range is about 265 V anywhere, current consumption of electronic choke is 2.5 times less than the normal choke at same voltage, so electricity bill charges can be reduced as same ratio by installing electronic choke instead of normal choke.
