Weekly Outline:
Activity session subject : Body Parts Vocabulary: New Vocabulary: head, hair, face, eyes, ears, mouth, nose, teeth, chin, neck, arms, shoulders, elbows, fingers, hands, tummy, bum, hips, legs, knee, feet, toes Sentence Structure(s): Question: what is it? Response: it is my (leg). Command: touch your elbow. Response: it is my elbow. Activities / songs / games: New Song(s): Head Shoulders Knees and Toes Games: Body part flashcard race: body part flash cards are on the board. Two students will come to the middle of the room. Teacher will say a body part and students have to run to the board and touch the correct flashcard. TPR using body parts: teacher will say a body part and students have to point to it on themselves. Body part bowling: body part flashcards are put on bowling pins. Students roll the ball and whatever pins fell down students will tell the class what they are. Arts and Crafts: Cut and glue face: students are given a blank face outline, eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Students will then glue the facial features on the blank face. Hands and feet decorating: printed out copies of hands and feet will be decorated to use in the week four activity all about colours.

Phonics This week in phonics we are introducing the first six letters of the Jolly Phonics programs. Letter sounds to review include: sss, aaa, ttt, iii, ppp, nnn. Letters will be reviewed by letter sound recognition through flashcards, actions and songs.

Review
This week we will review classroom commands and back to school. Vocabulary: hello, how are you, good morning, i am fine thank you, thank you, youre welcome, please, make a line, stand up, sit down, may I go to the toilet, may I drink water, my name is, clean up, good afternoon, good bye, see you later. Songs to review include: Good Morning Song, Good Afternoon Song, Clean Up Song, Make a Circle

I hope your child is adjusting to EP1 Rainbow and is enjoying his/her time at school. To practice body parts at home you can simply point to a body part and ask them what it is. Encourage a full sentence response. For example, it is my nose.
