Dear Parents, Thanks for all who have turned in their Walkathon pledge money as the classroom competitions end today. This week we also have an assembly sponsored by Pepsi on Wed. morning due to our school winning the Terra Cycle Contest prize of $25,000, so there will be about a 20-minute presentation with the press there. That is why I thank you for turning in the signed permission slips so that everyone in our class may attend. We have the following tests this week: 1. Math Customary and Metric Measures Test on Thursday (Your child was given a study guide to memorize the basic conversions. I also will probably give another basic facts test on Wed. 2. Spelling Test #36 on Friday 3. Reading Context Vocabulary Test on Friday (See this week's list.) We now have 41-42 state postcards as we received several this last week. Thanks once again for all your help in our completion of this project! We are hoping to get more. For several states we did receive state brochures or road maps instead of postcards, so we did hear from about 44-45 states, which is great! We will see how many more we will get this next week. Hope everyone has a great week and thanks for checking your child's reading log and having him/her return it to school on Monday! I have seen great strides in your children's reading ability, and the daily reading is so important in maintaining those gains! God bless, Mrs. Diana Sheedy
